Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Eric Grimes

Dr. Eric Grimes brings over three decades of experience and a patient-first philosophy to Cornerstone Dentistry. A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, he has been practicing since 1986 and opened the Lenoir practice in 2008 after many years in Florida.

Patients appreciate Dr. Grimes for his calm, gentle approach, clear communication, and commitment to long-term oral health. He believes that dental care should be as personal as it is professional—taking time to understand each patient’s needs and explain treatment options with clarity and care.

Dr. Grimes and his wife, Jeanette, moved to North Carolina in 2004 to enjoy their shared love for hiking, gardening and the outdoors. Dr. Grimes also has a longtime passion for growing orchids, a hobby he began more than 20 years ago.

Dr. Kajal Khatri

Dr. Kajal Khatri is a compassionate general dentist who believes dental care should feel welcoming, comfortable, and patient-focused. With a background in psychology, she combines gentle care with clear communication to help patients feel at ease and confident throughout their visits.

She provides preventive, restorative, cosmetic, pediatric, and emergency dental care and is a Silver provider for Invisalign. Dr. Khatri is known for her attention to detail, emphasis on education, and collaborative approach to treatment. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society.

Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and perfecting her coffee-making skills. She and her husband, along with their puppy, Tivo, are excited to call North Carolina home.

Dr. Phillip Beaver

Dr. Phillip Beaver brings over 21 years of gentle, patient-centered dental care to Cornerstone Dentistry. A native North Carolinian, Dr. Beaver earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Maryland Baltimore, where he was inducted into the prestigious Ferdinand Gorgas Honor Society.

Driven by a strong personal sense of ethics, Dr. Beaver is dedicated to doing what is best for every patient's oral and systemic health. He offers a comprehensive array of services, including general restorative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, Invisalign, limited oral surgery, and implant placement and restoration. He is also a recognized Fellow of the Implant Pathway. Dr. Beaver takes pride in staying current with modern dental technology while providing an empathetic, supportive environment where patients feel truly cared for. He prioritizes building authentic relationships by taking the time to listen, find common ground, and make every appointment centered around the patient.

Deeply committed to giving back, Dr. Beaver serves as a long-time deacon at Back Creek Presbyterian Church in Mt. Ulla, NC, and has lent his time to community outreach programs, including the Community Care Clinic in Salisbury, Give Kids a Smile, NC Missions of Mercy, and Rowan Helping Ministries West.

Outside the office, Dr. Beaver enjoys spending quality time with Kelli, his high school sweetheart and wife of over 25 years, and their two children, Danielle and Adam. You can often find him watching his son play sports or competing alongside his best friend in broadcasted YouTube sim-racing leagues.
